In the heart of the Magnetic Coast®, The Magnetic Group is a collection of luxury beachfront holiday accommodation on Magnetic Island, North Queensland, Australia. Indulge yourself in the selection of beautifully designed houses and villas under the backdrop of tropical Queensland and the Great Barrier Reef. Magnetic Island is voted Trip Advisers' 2017 Travellers Choice top five destinations in Australia, and is only a 25 minute Ferry ride from Townsville.

 

All of our properties are semi-serviced, holiday style.  Everything guests need to enjoy their stay is on the property and assistance is available if needed.  Full room servicing is provided on a once per week basis, with additional room servicing arranged for an extra charge. 

All houses and villas have been created to accommodate a range of guests and needs, so please explore and enjoy what the Magnetic Group has to offer.

GREAT BARRIER REEF

The World Heritage Listed 'Great Barrier Reef' sits on Magnetic Island's fingertips and is accessible via a 90 minute boat ride by a number of charters on the Island. The Yongala Wreck is also accessible, and is consistently voted as one of the top 10 dive sites in the world - not one to be missed by the avid scuba diver!

BUSHWALKING

Explore a number of walking tracks on Magnetic Island, with 12 designated tracks for all levels of fitness. Magnetic Island also hosts the Great Tropical Island Ocean Walk, a two day walk which circumnavigates 3/4 of Magnetic Island and includes 11 bays and beaches. 

FUN & ADVENTURE

There's plenty of exciting activities on Magnetic Island if you're looking for fun and adventure! From beach horseback riding, the Stage Door Theatre Restaurant, to banana rides, sky diving, sunset sailing and jetskis, plus the renowned full moon party at x-base backpackers, there's more than enough to keep your heart racing. 

FISHING

Magnetic Island hosts some fabulous fishing spots in North Queensland. Drop a line off the Picnic Bay pier or relax with the family at West Point. Bream, flathead, whiting, queen fish and trevally are some of the fish at hand, while Middle Reef (accessible by boat) gives you access to coral trout and Spanish mackerel. Fishing tours are also available on the island.

WILDLIFE SPOTTING

With 2/3 of Magnetic Island National Park, plus its Marine Parks (23 bays and beaches), wildlife here on the Island is abundant. With over 180 different species of birds, fish, whales, dugongs, wallabies and koalas to name a few. Enjoy a champagne breakfast and cuddle your favourite Australian animal at Bungalow Bay Koala Village. 

RELAXATION

Find some balance in your life with a number of treatments available across a variety of day spas on the island. Try some beach yoga to unwind, or treat yourself to some pampering at some of the beauty salons. At the end of the day, a leisurely beach stroll will help you feel a million miles away.

LOCAL HIGHLIGHTS

There are a number of local attractions on Magnetic Island, with highlights being the iconic WW2 Forts, weekly toad races, snorkelling at Florence Bay, pub trivia, weekly markets and more. Please see the 'What's on Magnetic Island' website for more information.

MAGNETIC COAST® & SURROUNDS

The Magnetic CoastT® stretches South from Magnetic Island to the wreck of the Yongala, to the coastal wilderness on Hinchinbrook Island in the North. It includes Australia's highest single-drop waterfall in the oldest continuously surviving World Heritage listed rainforest on Earth to the West, and the Great Barrier Reef to the East. All accessible by car or ferry, while you're over there, explore Townsville Strand and Castle Hill.

GOLF

Enjoy the surrounding bushland by spending some time at the Magnetic Island Country Club. Follow in Greg Norman's footsteps and have a round of golf, which showcases the best of Magnetic Islands native flora and fauna.

Magnetic Island has over 2000 permanent residents and hosts a variety of facilities to ensure a fully self-catered holiday. With an IGA & Foodworks, liquor store, three pubs plus a number of other restaurants and cafes, chemist, doctor & ambulance service, fishing & diving stores, plus car hire, you'll have everything you need on Magnetic Island.
